CW was doing a bike ride down out of the Copper Mountain (some stupid ski resort...) saturday and sunday. To keep myself entertained, I found some adventures along I-70. I was unsure of exactly what I would get into when I drove down but the night before I realized that the Continental Divide Trail/Colorado Trail passed right by the resort. This seemed convenient so I decided on a partial traverse of the Tenmile Range.
I was interested in doing the scramble on Peaks 2,3,4 but I was going the wrong direction to hit those early in the day.
I was planning on doing a yo-yo and turning around at Peak #4 but the weather was beginning to look questionable (I could see rain falling nearby). Just after Peak #6 I met a guy named Matt who was doing a thru-hike of the Colorado Trail (the only other hiker I saw the whole day). We chatted for a few minutes and I took a picture for him. He told me about a shuttle that runs between Copper and Frisco. This sounded pretty convenient so I decided to descend off the other side of the ridge towards Frisco.
