Cabin Creek (Coulson Gulch, Boulder Colorado)

There are still a few parts of Coulson Gulch that I haven't explored yet.  Among the peaks, the major holdouts are 1) Big John Mt., Taylor Mt., Cook Mt, and South Sheep Mt.  Among the drainages, the holdouts are Rock Creek, Bear Gulch.  The big prizes would be the western section of the N. St. Vrain Creek Canyon and it's partner, Cabin Creek.  

On this trip I travelled in the bottom of Cabin Creek for a while.

I walked off of my planned route by a bit to take a picture of Wild Basin (why does this always happen?).  

The Bright Trail leading down to North St. Vrain Creek seems to have been mostly destroyed in the 2013 floods (and/or abandoned). It's rough, but passable.

The 2013 flood filled the canyon will all kinds of debris. It was slow going.

Travel in the canyon was slow and there was snow predicted in a few hours.  I started the steep climb up the northern slopes of the canyon back towards Johnny Park Road.

It was easy to believe snow was on the way.

This was the second choice for the opening photo.

Golden Age Hill in the distance. it's not above treeline, there was a big fire (2003 Overland Fire).
